This is my 2nd Aconcaugua Down jacket from The North Face and my first time purchasing from Backcountry.com
Buying online from Backcountry.com was GREAT! I ordered my jacket on a Wednesday and it was here on Friday!
The only complaint I have about this jacket compared to my other one, is that it's length is shorter.

The jacket is very cute and fitted; I would suggest ordering at least 1 size up. The color is very nice and it has a pretty sheen to it. I rated it a 4 rather than a 5 strictly based on the tight fit. I would not recommend this jacket to women who are heavier or have a belly but it looks darling on slim builds.

Good jacket, but Moosejaw's product description is wrong. It is NOT zip in compatible, since it does not have a reversible zipper or loops on the sleeve. The sleeves are also a tad longish, so not really a under a shell jacket, either. Other than this, the jacket is fine for a stand alone outwear jacket.

I'm usually a medium in north face, but this jacket is just a little tight and short. I'm 5'6, 140, very athletic. The jacket it tight around the back and shoulders and a little short. Perfect arm length though! Too bad they're sold out of larges.
Even though it's snug, I make it work. It is SOO warm. I love it enough to not return it!
if you decide to buy, simply go up a size!

I bought this coat last January and have never been so pleased with a purchase. I buy a lot of clothes and jackets and shoes. I'm a girl and its my thing. But when it comes to jackets it needs to be warm because I have poor circulation. Well that's exactly what this coat is. So warm and it goes with a lot of outfits. Highly recommended!

Received this in the mail today and I fell in love with it. It is a nice looking coat. I tried it on and it is warm. Not bulky at all. However, medium is a little big for me that's why I called the customer service and asked for the speedy exchange so I can get a small size. You can't beat the price, too.Moosejaw has the lowest price online for this coat. Super fast shipping. Will definitely buy again.

this is a really warm jacket and im glad i have it the only thing that has really let me down was the right pocket zipper fell apart and i'm gonna have to send it back to north face and have it replaced other than the zipper falling apart this jacket is great and keeps me nice and toasty all day & night, i would highly reccommend this jacket to all my friends and family..!!

This product was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a coat that was not only stylish and functional but could prove to withstand the harsh Michigan winters. I got it to take skiing and it worked perfectly. I am 5'2 and 120 and the medium fits me well, its a little big but I got it a size larger to wear sweatshirts and hoodies underneath it comfortably. I didn't have any problems with the sleeves being too short or the body being too short, and even though I ordered one size up it fits snuggly still. Plus it looks super cute, I got it in back and I can pair it with my leather boots and a dressed up scarf or with my rain boots and mittens.

I ordered this jacket for an upcoming ski trip... All I can say is that it's fabulous! I ordered the metallic silver and I really love the color. The picture shown online is very true to color. I am also 5'7'' and 120 lbs and the medium fits me just how I like it. Not too tight and not baggy at all. Its perfect. This jacket is very very warm. I don't think it will require any layering at all. Definitely a good purchase :)

I purchased an Aconcagua Jacket a couple of seasons ago and wanted to replace it this year. I really liked my first purchase and expected the new jacket (with the same style name) to replicate my original. The new jacket was missing some of the features I enjoyed in the original: 1) no inner chest pocket, 2) no snaps on cuffs to interface with a shell outer layer, 3) no hang loop, 4) no fleece lining on collar or inside pockets, 5) revised cinch cord is missing an anchor, 6) less stitching on the jacket overall and different stitching on the sleeves, 7) inferior lining. I think that all of these changes merit changing the name of the style. Perhaps Aconcagua Down Jacket II. Still a nice jacket overall, but not as expected.

Every body type has a different set of ratios between the chest, waist, and hips. The hip-to-waist ratio is found by dividing the waist measurement by the hip measurement.
An hourglass figure (#1), with a very defined waist, might be around 0.7, while a less curvy body type (#2) might be around 0.9.
An individual with an undefined waist (#3) would be a 1, while an individual whose waist is larger than their hips (#4) would be above a 1.
